C.A.S.T. is a group for central Appalachia and in fact all of Appalachia and the surrounding areas to be here for moral support in these trying times and to spread the word about GIC and all that which we hold dear.

Growth

Growth plans for the coming years include film screenings, street teams to raise GIC awareness within the community, creation of literature to tell the world about the negative things going on in the world as well as the positive changes we are going through as a species. We want to let people know that it is time to pull the blinders away and see that everything is NOT OK but that through hard work we can change the world for the better. There are wonderful pieces of inspiration on the web and in day to day life, and there is no need to worry or have fear, we simply need to recognize and stand strong against the forces of evil within the national and international government.

Appalachian sovereignty

We acknowledge this, a place, a temple, where we gather individually or in groups, to better the self, spiritual & consciously expand or live free lives as per the constitution of the United States of America.

And this as one of Gaia’s last supreme areas of true exploration and freedom where there is still room for prosperity and the area to be left alone so long as we harm none.

We hold several truths dear, but especially that none has the right to impose their beliefs on another, and we are all here to live as freely as our forefathers intended in the freedom that they saw when they came here hundreds of years ago.

We are all here to live how we deem we should so long as by doing so we harm none and ever remember to hold respect for our Mother Nature and fellow human siblings.

And in time of trial we are here to offer support freely without coercion for our fellow siblings, to live in this freedom!

In North Carolina, protesters gearing up for actions against Bank of America at the company’s shareholder meeting tomorrow could face a massive crackdown after police in Charlotte were granted new powers allowing them to stop and search anyone carrying a bag close to the protests. A new city ordinance allows police to ban backpacks, messenger bags, coolers and other items near the meeting, as well as near the Democratic National Convention in September.

A federal judge has ruled the Environmental Protection Agency overstepped its authority when it revoked a permit for one of the nation’s largest mountaintop removal coal mines. Fourteen months ago, the EPA said Arch Coal’s proposed Spruce No. 1 Mine in West Virginia would "use destructive and unsustainable practices that jeopardize the health of Appalachian communities and the clean water on which they depend." The judge declared that the permit was now valid, paving the way for a mining project covering nearly 2,300 acres to go forward.
