The old testament seems to be only a book of laws. Very legalistic. However, there are nuggets of wisdom here and there within it's pages, and if you take out the narative, you wouldn't have much left.

This was a great film, who wrote the bible. I grew up in the Christain church, mostly going to Baptists Churches, as that was where my neighbors went, and thus, gave my brothers and sister a ride every Sunday. They actually taught me more about Hell and eternal damn -nation than about the love of god, saying "if you don't love god, he will kill you!" Those enlightened say that God is not a man, but emanates from ALL THAT IS, as light emanates from a light bulb, and he/she could be referred to as ALL THAT IS (all caps). That is how I see God. He is plainly there in and through all that is (everything), that includes you and me, and each spider and dog -as well. If you look at nature in right way, you can see how Spirit emanates from all form.
I have finally come to the conclusion that religion is a tool for control, power and wealth. There is nothing there for me, sad to say. I haven't even touched on what is referred to as The Dark Ages, the Inquisition, and religious trials where many a man, women and child lost their heads because they wouldn't accept the church edicts. This is history, and at one time was taught in school.
